Start with the Crop

A Plan Built Around Bloom

Effective pollination planning begins with the crop, expected bloom period, acreage, location, colony access, and surrounding forage. Contact AJ Honey Farms early enough to discuss whether the request fits available colonies and responsible apiary management.

Every site and season is different. Colony numbers, delivery timing, placement, duration, and pricing are determined only after the relevant conditions are reviewed.

Prepare for the First Conversation

Crop & Acreage

Crop or planting type, approximate acreage, planting stage, anticipated bloom, and the pollination objective.

How Planning Works

From Inquiry to Colony Placement

Initial Request

Share the crop, acreage, location, bloom estimate, preferred dates, and best contact information.

Site and Service Review

AJ Honey Farms reviews access, placement, pesticide exposure, colony needs, travel, timing, and availability. A site visit may be needed.

Written Service Terms

If the request is accepted, the parties document colony quantity, timing, placement, access, pricing, responsibilities, and other agreed terms.

Delivery and Pickup

Colonies are placed and removed according to the written plan, subject to weather, bloom development, site conditions, bee health, and safety.

Protecting the Colonies

Communication Matters

  • Disclose planned pesticide, fungicide, and herbicide applications before an agreement is made.
  • Notify AJ Honey Farms before any unplanned treatment or site change.
  • Maintain safe access to agreed colony-placement areas.
  • Discuss available water and competing forage.
  • Protect colonies from livestock, vehicles, vandalism, flooding, and avoidable disturbance.

Pesticide Coordination

Product choice, application timing, drift, residues, and tank mixes can affect honeybees. Growers and applicators remain responsible for following labels, laws, notification requirements, and the written pollination agreement.

Discuss Site Conditions

Availability and Results Disclaimer

Submitting an inquiry does not reserve colonies or create a service agreement. AJ Honey Farms may accept or decline requests based on colony health, availability, distance, timing, access, weather, safety, and other conditions. Honeybees are living animals operating in changing environments; AJ Honey Farms does not guarantee crop yield, fruit set, pollination level, bloom conditions, weather, or agricultural results. Final responsibilities are governed by the written agreement accepted by both parties.

Honey, Beeswax & Bee Inquiries

We harvest honey and beeswax from our own hives. Honey is extracted and strained through 600, 400, and 200 micron screens. We render our wax using a steam-heated system.
